Carriers from the New World Alliance -- APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine and MOL -- and the Grand Alliance -- Hapag-Lloyd, MISC Berhad, NYK and OOCL -- have agreed to merge their respective fortnightly Asia/Black Sea services into one weekly string, effective immediately.
The parties already entered into a slot exchange agreement on both services since February. Hanjin Shipping and United Arab Shipping Co. (UASC) will continue to take space on the revised service, which will use eight vessels (five from the GA and three from the NWA) of about 5,000 TEUs.
The port rotation of the East-Mediterranean/Black Sea Express (EBX) as it is marketed by the NWA is Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Suez, Istanbul, Constanza, Odessa, Constanza, Istanbul, Damietta, Suez, Jeddah, Singapore, and Shanghai.
