SIA cargo cuts costs

Singapore Airlines is looking to cut capacity and costs including asking its cargo pilots to take no-pay leave as the airline is facing tough operating conditions, the Business Times reported.   "The cargo business position is very weak at this point in time and the outlook for 2009 is not good," the paper quoted SIA spokesman Stephen Forshaw as saying.   Forshaw said that the airline's priority is to manage costs and capacity and avoid lay-offs if possible.   CargoNewsAsia
