The Latin American Air Transport Association announced that its member airlines carried 9.7 million passengers in November, up 1.2 percent from last year. Freight ton kilometers decreased 18.6 percent in November and 12.2 percent year-to-date.
Traffic and capacity increased 0.9 percent and 4.5 percent.
The number of passengers carried January through November 2008 increased 6.5 percent versus the same period of the previous year, reaching 105.7 million passengers. During the period, traffic increased 9.9 percent, capacity increased 9.1 percent and passenger load factor reached 71.3 percent, 0.6 percentage points higher than the previous year.
