2/23/2007 11:12:11 AM

Maersk Line is still experiencing delays in operations at Chittagong Port, Bangladesh. Berthing delay is currently an average of 3,5 days, and a total port stay of 8,5 days.

In other news, the West African nation of Guinea is currently under martial law. The port of Conakry has in recent weeks experienced challenges in ensuring basic functionality, initially due to a strike and subsequently the martial law.

Maersk Line containers destined for Conakry are accumulating in various locations as we are unable to deliver the cargo while the port is closed.
The only way to prevent further deterioration of this problem is to curtail import cargo for Conakry until the situation improves, the government regains control.
