Hong Kong's Dragonair, a member of the Cathay Pacific group, plans to increase the number of its flights to both Ningbo and Xiamen in mainland China.
As a result, the number of flights to Ningbo from Hong Kong will be raised from seven to 10 weekly from July 21, while flights to Xiamen will be increased by four to a total of 18 per week from September 1, a company statement said.
The airline has also resumed its freighter services between Hong Kong and Xiamen to a thrice-weekly operation, starting July 4 to meet demand into and out of Fujian city. The airline is using a Boeing 747 freighter on the route.
Dragonair's freighter service departs as flight KA506 from Hong Kong at 04:30 hrs and arrives at 05:50 hrs in Xiamen on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Flight KA507 departs from Xiamen at 07:20 hrs and arrives in Shanghai at 09:10 hrs every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Later on the same days, flight KA507 departs from Shanghai at 11:45 hrs and arrives back in Hong Kong at 14:15 hrs.
