Eastern Airways will connect Newcastle International Airport with Oslo as it starts its first ever link to the Norwegian capital from Monday (12 January 2009).
The independent regional airline, which is Newcastle's most punctual scheduled airline, is offering a daily weekday connecting service from the north east airport to Oslo via Aberdeen aimed at business travellers, tourists and winter sports enthusiasts.
Flights depart from Newcastle 7.10am arriving in Oslo at 1.05pm local time. Departures leave Oslo at 1.45pm, arriving in Newcastle at 5.10pm local time.
Norway is the third largest exporter of oil in the world and a number of energy related companies have offices in Oslo, which has the busiest cargo port in the country, along with many shipping companies and insurance brokers.
