China Cargo Airlines has launched an all-cargo service from Yantai to North America via transfer at Shanghai Pudong Airport to Los Angeles and Chicago, says Logistics Week.
The weekly service deploys an Airbus A-300 freighter of 40-tonne capacity with schedules on Tuesdays, taking off from Yantai Airport at 1500 hrs, transferring to Los Angeles and Chicago after stopping at Shanghai Pudong Airport at 1615 hrs. Cargos are all loaded on pallets and transferred to North America without discharge at Shanghai, so that most extra procedures and transit time can be reduced.
The service will bridge a fast, convenient and effective airfreight linkage between Yantai and US, and have a strategic and significant effect on the city's foreign trade development. The launch is Yantai Airport's first step in its mega-freighter introducing scheme, and the airport will gradually plan to launch direct cargo services to US and EU, the report added.
