CKYH Alliance switches from Panama to Suez on Far East - US East Coast service

According to Alphaliner, the CKYH Alliance (COSCO, K-Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping), will launch a new Far East - US east coast (AWE-6) service via the Suez Canal to replace the current AWE-5 loop that uses Panama, effective May 1st.   The AWE-6 service will deploy nine postpanamax vessels (5,000 - 7,500 TEU) calling at Xiamen, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Cai Mep, Singapore, Colombo, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Jeddah and back to Xiamen via Singapore.   The current AWE-5 service deploys nine 3,400 - 4,300 TEU vessels calling at Kaohsiung, Shenzhen-Yantian, Shanghai, Busan, (Panama Canal), New York, Norfolk, Savannah, (Panama Canal) and back to Kaohsiung.   eyefortransport
