New Zealand firm Infratil, which owns Glasgow Prestwick airport in Scotland, is to invest GBP250 million in the airport’s freight and passenger facilities.
In the long term, it wants to double the number of aircraft movements to more than 300 a day by 2033.
Prestwick already is a major freight hub in Scotland as well being the main Scottish airport for Irish budget carrier Ryanair.
It is connected to Glasgow by road and also has a direct rail link to the city outside the passenger terminal.
