Chilean ocean carrier Compania Sud Americana de Vapores appears to have dropped the Far East leg of its Pacific Caribbean (PACAR) service so that it is now a dedicated Mexico/Central America/North Coast South America loop.
According to the sailing schedule on CSAV's Web site, the PACAR now uses four ships averaging 1,160 TEUs on an eight-day frequency calling Manzanillo, Mexico; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala; Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica; Cartagena, Colombia; Rio Haina, Dominican Republic; La Guaira, Venezuela; Puerto Cabello, Venezuela; Cartagena; Puerto Caldera; Puerto Quetzal; and back to Manzanillo. Asian ports previously served on the PACAR were Busan, Shanghai, Chiwan and Hong Kong.
