Maersk Line will in early March start a new intra-Asia service to link the ports of Kaohsiung, Xiamen and Hong Kong with the Danish mega-carrier's Southeast Asian hub port of Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia and Singapore.
The IA-3 will deploy two 4,000-TEU vessels with the first sailing to be made by the Maersk Brooklyn departing Hong Kong on March 4. The port rotation will be Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Hong Kong and back to Tanjung Pelepas.
Maersk's intra-Asia service network already includes the IA-2 service that uses three vessels of about 2,900 TEUs sailing between ports in Thailand and Japan.
