Fuel hikes induce Air Berlin to reduce Shanghai-Dusseldorf flights

6/20/2008 9:31:40 AM

Germany's second largest air carrier Air Berlin has announced decision to reduce the number of weekly fights from Shanghai to Dusseldorf from five to three starting from July.

The decision was due to the heavy pressure on operation resulted from soaring fuel price, Logistics Week reported.

Air Berlin had just launched the five-time-weekly services from Beijing and Shanghai to Dusseldorf in early May, using Airbus 330 aircraft.

LOT Polish Airlines also suspended its Beijing-Warsaw service earlier, which was launched in early April, due to similar reasons.
