Malaysian airline AirAsia X has denied it is considering charging Australian passengers by weight in a bid to fight rising fuel prices and to "help Aussies lose weight."
Fox News had quoted AirAsia X general manager Darren Wright saying the carrier was considering extreme measures to increase revenue if fuel prices continued to rise.
The carrier later said if it did weigh passengers, it would only be so it could better calculate the available cargo weight per flight, not so it could charge its passengers more.
