Global integrator FedEx has boosted its capacity in Vietnam, inaugurating flights using A310 freighters to handle a maximum 30 tonnes a day in the market.
Rival TNT has opened a new 1,200 sq m facility in Hanoi as part of a US$1.27 million investment that gives that express company the capacity to handle four times its current volume of international and domestic cargo under one roof.
Forwarders also are increasing business in Vietnam.
US-based forwarder IJS Global recently launched a joint venture with a local partner, which gives the logistics firm a presence in Ho Chi Minh City as well as in Hanoi.
And at the beginning of November, the Vietnamese subsidiary of Yusen Air and Sea opened an office and a 6,000 sq m warehouse in Hai Duong province near Hanoi.
