Cathay Pacific is boosting the number of passenger flights to Paris, Shanghai and Jakarta beginning March 29.
To Paris, Cathay will add four flights a week to its previous 10 to the French capital. To Shanghai, two extra daily flights will be added to Pudong International Airport, meaning Cathay will now have three daily flights to the city. To Jakarta, Cathay will supplement its twice-daily flights with three extra flights per week.
"Cathay Pacific’s capacity will grow at less than 1 percent this year -- a significant reduction on our original plan as a result of the current financial crisis -- but we will take whatever opportunities we can to strengthen those routes where demand and revenue potential remain high," said Ian Shiu, the airline's director corporate development.
