Nippon Cargo Airlines, a subsidiary of Japan's NYK Line, announced plans to resume suspended flights between Tokyo and New York.
The carrier dropped the flights between Narita International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport last August due to skyrocketing fuel prices and a limited number of aircraft.
The airline said in a statement that it now plans to resume flights in response to repeated requests from customers in both Japan and the United States.
Nippon Cargo did not give a specific date for the resumption of serviceTokyo-New York flights, saying it will announce details of the schedule after getting approval from authorities.
Tokyo-based NCA is Japan's only all-freighter operator and second-biggest international air-cargo carrier, after Japan Airlines, Asia’s largest airline.
