Japan Airlines, Asia’s biggest air carrier, says international cargo volume declined for five months in a row to November 2008, when volume fell 25.1 per cent to 51,823 tons.
Figures for the first eight months of fiscal 2008, from April, show international volume totalled 479,443 tons, down 7.8 per cent from the same period of fiscal 2007.
Japan’s second-largest airline, All Nippon Airways, said international cargo volume declined for the first time in fiscal 2008 on a year-on-year basis.
