Korean Airlines Cargo has confirmed a change to its Australian schedule. Effective 02 September, the carrier will change to an evening departure coinciding with an upgrade in operating equipment in Melbourne from A330-200 to B777-200.
Sydney flights will now depart at 19.50 hrs. and Melbourne flights will depart at 17.00 hrs. Korean operates daily flights from Sydney and operates flights from Melbourne on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Australian freight manager Gary Jones said the upgrade in aircraft type to B777-200 would see up to 10 tonnes additional cargo capacity per flight. He said the additional capacity would be targeted at improving its perishables uplift to the Japan and Europe markets.
