Taiwan's two main international airports experienced drops in world rankings in both cargo and passenger volumes in 2007, according to a report just released by the country’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport ranked 15th among 877 airports in the world in terms of cargo transport volume in 2007, down two notches from the previous year, the report shows.
In the Asia-Pacific region, it ranked 6th among 136 in cargo volume in 2007, the same as 2006, while Kaohsiung International Airport was placed 40th, down one notch from 2006.
In terms of passenger volume in the region, Taoyuan ranked 14th in 2007, slipping one place from 2006, while Kaohsiung ranked 45th in 2007, down eight places from 2006.
