Construction starts on Baoman terminal

Construction on the land area project of the Baoman Container Terminal in Guangdong Province's Zhanjiang Port began on February 14. The Baoman Container Terminal project, involving a total investment of nearly US$244 million, will see the establishment of two 50,000 tonnes special berths. The project is expected to preliminarily begin operations in the first half of 2009 and to be completed in 2010.The tender for the first phase of the project was completed in October 2007, while the water engineering works started in November of the same year and are now progressing smoothly.   CargonewsAsia
