Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) plans to team up with United Parcel Service (UPS) in air cargo operations as early as spring 2009, Jiji Press reported.
The two companies will take such measures as code sharing to boost their transport capacity and increase operational efficiency.
They are discussing utilising empty space of each company's cargo jets and passenger aircraft's cargo compartments, so that ANA can transport cargoes to Asian destinations on behalf of UPS and the US firm can handle cargoes to Europe and the United States for ANA.
For international express parcel delivery services for corporate clients, ANA will maintain its joint operations with Nippon Express and Kintetsu World Express, while UPS will continue its own business.
