Air China adds freighters

11/8/2008 9:52:15 AM

Air China Cargo plans to add three converted aircraft, expanding its freighter fleet to 11 jets.

The Chinese operator will have the 747-400 planes -- which were commercially operated by Air China -- converted to freighters in Taikoo Aircraft Engineering's Xiamen facility.

Air China Cargo commenced service in 2003 and has since steadily expanded its all-Boeing fleet. The company leases two 747-400s, and owns three 747-400s and 747-200s.
